On 28th June 2012, the Perak DAP organized a massive concert at Kinta Riverfront Hotel Grand Ballroom, Ipoh. The event was aimed at promoting the Ubah song in Tamil, as it was launch at the same day also. The Guest of Honor for the event was Penang Chief Minister & DAP Secretary General, YAB Lim Guan Eng & also attended by many DAP notable figures, among which was, DAP National Advisor & Parliamentary Leader, YB Lim Kit Siang, DAP CEC Members, YB Prof. Ramasamy, YB Ngeh Koo Ham, who is also the Perak DAP Chairman, and other DAP Parliament & State elected representatives.
The event was hosted by three young, upcoming leaders, Sdr.Howard Lee, Sdri.Kasthuri Patto, & Sdr.Fairuz Azhan. About 2,000 people filled up the ballroom the moment the doors were open. They were entertained by various songs by a local live band. The music video of the Tamil version of Ubah was played at about 9pm as a sign of the launch right after the launching gimmick by the Guest of Honor, YAB Lim Guan Eng. The crowd were mesmerized as they watched the music video.
The event then moved towards speeches by DAP notable figures starting with YAB Lim Guan Eng, YB Dato’ Ngeh Koo Ham, YB Prof. Ramasamy, YB Kulasegaran, YB Lim Kit Siang, YB Sivakumar & YB Nga Kor Ming. Various Ubah merchandises were also being sold on that night.
Ubah concert ended at about 11pm with the crowd still staying till the very end. The Perak DAP hopes that by having this concert, more people would get involved in making a change in the upcoming 13th General Election.
