Secretary General on party members “wearing Rocket badges but have BN hearts” who try to destroy and sabotage DAP

Press Statement By DAP Secretary-General And MP For Bagan Lim Guan Eng In Kuala Lumpur On 15.10.2013

Anthony Loke And Gobind Singh Deo Will Respectively Take Disciplinary Action Against  Party Members “Wearing Rocket Badges But Have BN Hearts” Who Try To Destroy And Sabotage DAP As Well As Take Legal Action Against BN-Controlled Media Who Persist In Defaming DAP With Lies.
DAP National Organising Secretary Sdr Anthony Loke and DAP Legal Bureau head Sdr Gobind Singh Deo have been respectively directed to investigate and take disciplinary action against party members “wearing Rocket badges but have BN hearts” who try to destroy and sabotage DAP as well as take legal action against BN-controlled media who persist in defaming DAP with lies.

The MP for Seremban and State Assemblyman for  Chenaah Sdr Anthony Loke will then be requested to submit a formal complaint, if there is a basis for futher action, to the party’s Disciplinary Committee headed by DAP Deputy Chair and MP for Cheras Sdr Tan Kok Wai. At the same time Sdr Gobind will study the statements published by the BN-controlled media to file defamation suits immediately to protect the party from being subjected to further attacks that may give opportunities for any harsh or oppressive action by the Registrar of Societies(ROS).

DAP had created history by being the first political party in Malaysia to appoint an international accounting firm to monitor the entire re-election process from the issuance of notices to delegates to the counting process.  This party re-election on 29 September 2013 was forced upon the DAP by the ROS who had refused to give any reason for doing so.

The party leadership was forced to accept this directive and conduct re-elections to avoid further action by the ROS, including de-registration of the DAP. However those DAP members aligned to the ROS who had asked the party to conduct re-elections then suddenly changed their position by trying to stop the re-elections by filing a court injunction. In a decision on 27 September 2013, the Kuala Lumpur High Court threw out the application by a party member aligned with ROS, and allowed DAP to proceed with the re-elections to elect 20 Central Executive(CEC) members.

The party re-elections was successfully conducted on 29 September 2013 and the same team of 20 CEC members was voted in similar to the one at the last Party Congress on 15 December 2012. In other words the DAP party re-elections and the CEC is both lawful and legitimate because it has been validated both by the courts but most importantly democratically elected by the party delegates.

However despite the party re-elections being both lawful and legitimate, the party continues to be accused of cheating. Even UMNO’s party elections are not monitored and verified by an international accounting firm like the DAP.

DAP has to take firm action and protect the party from these lies of cheating to repel BN’s and its media New Straits Times and Utusan Malaysia’s shameless tactic of  “turning a lie into the truth by repeating a lie 10,000 times”. The public has lost count of the number of times that both Utusan Malaysia and New Straits Times have apologised to PR leaders.

These lies were even turned into a booklet by one Father Augustus Chen which Utusan Malaysia even claimed was a close friend of DAP leader Lim Kit Siang. Clearly Father Augustus Chen does not exist and is a fiction created by those anti-DAP elements. Lim Kit Siang had filed a defamation suit against Utusan Malaysia.

The time has come for the party’s 150,000 members to move boldly forward to realise the Malaysian Dream through DAP’s battle-cry of UBAH to replace BN at the next general elections, with genuinely loyal party members who wear both Rocket badges and have DAP hearts.
