‘PEOPLE’S VOICE MADE IT HAPPEN FOR SRJK (T) GUNUNG RAPAT’
The Mayor of Ipoh, Dato' Haji
Roshidi Bin Haji Hashim, had announced that the SRJK (T) Gunung Rapat will be
given the 3 acres of land for the school. This land is the same land in Ampang
which was proposed by the school PIBG. It was a very lengthy delay to get a
piece of land for this Tamil school. Finally, the Tamil school managed to get a
piece of land. I thank the Mayor on behalf of the parents for approving the
land.
Recently, Dato’ S. Veerasingam
criticized me that I had spoiled the school’s chance to get a land by holding a
peaceful demonstration in front of the school. If what he said was true, why
did the school manage to get the land immediately, within 1 month after the
peaceful demonstration? The file was
laid in the Land Office for months. Only after being pressured, now the land
had been approved.
I am taking this opportunity to
thank each individual who had come bravely and supported the peaceful
demonstration in front of the SRJK (T) Gunung Rapat on 2nd October
2011. The approval was given in reaction to the people’s power.
I am very happy that the SRJK (T)
Gunung Rapat has finally got a land of its own for school building. Hereby, I
urge the Federal Government to allocate a large sum to build the new school
with all necessary facilities equipped. There should not be any delay in the
future for approving the sum and to put up the new building structure at
soonest possible.
