‘DOUBLE-STANDARD EDUCATION LOAN
OR SCHOLARSHIP OR 1MALAYSIA?’
1MALAYSIA?
REALLY? HOW IS IT MATERILIZED IN PERAK EDUCATION LOAN MATTER?
Perak
State Government does not offer scholarship to ‘Anak Perak’ (Perakian). All
this while they practice only offering loans to Anak Perak. By taking this
loan, an Anak Perak needs to pay back the State Government after their studies.
It is
very true for a poor man to curse the Perak State Government which can spend
very huge money and unnecessarily on mega projects and white elephants but the
government has no allocation for scholarship funds for a Perak-born. It looks
as though Perak is giving out loan because it is following other states giving
loan or scholarship.
The
government should seriously think of a way to provide scholarship to Anak Perak rather than providing loan only. This will encourage Anak Perak to do well in
their studies. Also it is proper for the Perak State Government gives some other
privileges to the scholarship students such as jobs or business opportunities.
The government must be serious to help Anak Perak and especially those who can produce
excellent academic performance regardless of race and religion.
Najib
is promoting 1Malaysia whereby in Perak, there are 2 types of Education Loans;
Anak Perak Loan for Malay and Non-Malay. So, where does this 1Malaysia fits in
these Loans? Two separate loans based on races in two enactments. Why is it
so? Why is this double-standard? Zambry does not agree to practice Najib’s
1Malaysia concept?
This
matter was raised in the Perak State Assembly sitting recently and the answer
was very much predicted; that is, it will be combined in the near future.
When do
Zambry and his goons will amend these ‘Anak Perak categorized by Race’
enactments to make as one loan?
Speaking
on it, just by saying having the intention, is not enough. Only execution proofs everything!
